Merge PDF files
Combine PDFs in your chosen order. Files stay on your device.
Add PDFs
Up to 40 PDFs, 500 pages, and 100 MB total.
File order
Drag to reorder or use the arrows.Add at least two PDFs to merge.
Original page sizes and PDF content remain. Check links and forms in the result. Digital signatures become invalid.
Merge PDFs while keeping their page sizes and order
Join existing PDFs into one document without converting their pages into pictures. This is useful for combining a report and an appendix, or collecting several documents for sharing. The tool preserves original page dimensions and moves whole files; it does not compress the result or rearrange pages inside an input PDF.
Step by step
- Add at least two PDFs and read the status message for skipped files. Encrypted, unreadable, empty or over-limit inputs are skipped individually, so verify that every intended file appears in the accepted list.
- Use the up/down arrows or drag file rows to arrange the files. All pages from the first file come first, followed by every page of the next file. Enter an output filename if you want a different name.
- Merge and download the PDF. Check the first and last page of each input in the result, together with page sizes, links and form fields. The displayed total input size is not a prediction of the merged file's byte size.
Settings and limits
- Input limits
- Use 2–40 PDF files, at most 500 pages in total and at most 100 MiB of combined input: 104,857,600 bytes. A failed first-page thumbnail does not necessarily prevent a readable PDF from being merged.
- Page order and dimensions
- File rows control whole-file order; each input keeps its internal page order and page dimensions. Use Organize PDF pages first when you need to remove, rotate, extract or rearrange individual pages.
- File size and filename
- The filename changes the download name, not the content. There is no target-size or compression setting and no explicit output byte cap. Use Combine & Fit PDF for images and a total size target; existing PDF content still may not shrink.
Worked example
Download document-a.pdf and document-b.pdf. Add A first and B second, then merge them. The expected result has Document A on an A4 page, followed by Document B on a US Letter page.
Download the example files
Open merged-example.pdf to compare that expected order and the two page sizes. Move B above A and merge again: the order should reverse. Your generated file need not be byte-identical to the reference because PDF metadata and resource serialization can differ.
Questions and troubleshooting
Why is the Merge button unavailable?
At least two accepted PDF files are required. Check whether an input was skipped, unlock encrypted documents before adding them, or reduce the combined size and page count.
Will the merged PDF meet an upload limit?
No fixed output size is promised. Adding PDFs can produce a file larger than the destination allows. Remove unnecessary pages before merging or use a suitable compression workflow, then inspect the downloaded byte size.
What happens to signatures, links and forms?
Rewriting a signed PDF invalidates its digital signature. Copied page content does not guarantee that all document-level links or form behavior survive. Test any interactive features you need in the result; merging is not redaction.
