    Preview

Your page preview will appear here.

Drag the watermark in the preview to place it precisely.

Files stay in your browser. Original PDF content remains selectable, but a watermark is not redaction. Editing a signed PDF can invalidate its signature.

Add a readable text or logo watermark to PDF pages

Mark drafts, samples or branded documents with a text or logo watermark while keeping the PDF's existing page content. The mark is added as an image; source text generally remains selectable. A watermark identifies a document visually but does not prevent copying, editing or removal and does not hide confidential information.

    Step by step

    1. Add PDFs and select a file and preview page. Choose text or a logo, then set the appearance. Use the preview and position controls to keep important document content readable.
    2. Set size, opacity, angle and a single or repeated pattern. Choose above or below existing content and select all pages, odd pages, even pages or a range. A range uses each PDF's page positions.
    3. Export the PDFs and open the results to check placement, readability and page selection. Successful single-file exports download directly; a successful batch downloads as a ZIP. Individual completed results are also available.

    Settings and limits

    Watermark appearance
Size is 5%–90% of page width and may be reduced to fit its height. Opacity is 1%–100%; angle is -180°–180°. Text is rendered to an image using browser fonts, so inspect long text and less-common scripts.
    Layer and page selection
Above places the mark over page content. Below can make it disappear behind an opaque page background. Odd/even selection uses file positions, not printed labels. Ranges such as 1-3, 5 must be valid for every PDF being exported.
    Input limits
Add up to 40 PDFs, 100,000,000 bytes of combined input and 500 pages in total. A logo must be a supported PNG, JPG or WebP image no larger than 10,000,000 bytes. Password-protected or damaged PDFs may fail.

    Worked example

Open guide-document.pdf. Use the text SAMPLE, 20% size, 30% opacity, -30° angle, a single centered mark, the above-content layer and odd pages. Export the PDF.

    Example input

    SAMPLE · 20% · 30% · -30° · [1]

    Expected result

    PDF [1, 2] · SAMPLE [1]

Compare with watermarked-example.pdf. Its 2 pages are preserved, the mark appears only on page 1, and the original document text remains selectable. Browser fonts can change the mark's exact shape; verify placement rather than expecting identical file bytes.

    Questions and troubleshooting

Why cannot I see the watermark?

A below-content mark can be covered by a white image or background. Switch to Above, increase opacity or size, and verify that the preview page belongs to the selected page range.

Does a watermark protect the document from copying?

No. It is a visual label, not encryption, access control or redaction. Recipients can still access the existing PDF content and may be able to remove the mark.

Why do only some files finish in a batch?

A range can be valid for one PDF but out of bounds for another, and an individual file can be unreadable. Check the result list and failed-file messages, correct the selection or remove the failing file, then retry.
